Cookies and local storage

How this site remembers your session and progress

World Word Search currently uses necessary session storage and does not run advertising or behavioural-analytics cookies.

01

World Word Search session cookie

After sign-in, the service sets a secure wws_session cookie so the server can recognise the account. It is HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Lax and is currently set for up to 30 days. It is necessary for signed-in features and is cleared when you sign out.

02

Device storage

The browser may use local storage for daily-puzzle state, onboarding choices and resilience while progress is being saved. This information stays in that browser until the site or user clears it and is used to keep the game working, not for advertising.

03

Google and Stripe

Google may set its own cookies when you choose Google sign-in. Stripe may set cookies on its checkout or account-management pages. Their notices explain those cookies and choices; World Word Search does not read their payment or advertising cookies.

04

No optional analytics at present

The current service does not set advertising, cross-site tracking or optional analytics cookies. Because only necessary storage is used by World Word Search, there is no optional-cookie banner. If optional analytics or marketing tools are added, this page and the consent controls will be updated first.

05

Your controls

You can block or clear cookies and local storage in your browser, but blocking the session cookie will prevent sign-in and cloud-saved progress. Contact tkintell@gmail.com with questions.
