Safeguarding
World Word Search is a learning tool, not a safeguarding system. Schools, churches and families must provide permission, supervision and an appropriate response to concerns.
The game has no private player-to-player messaging, does not request a child's date of birth or precise location, and uses organisation join codes rather than searchable pupil directories. Public usernames and avatars must not identify a child.
Only authorised adults should create school or church profiles and share codes. The organisation must follow its own safer-recruitment, parental-permission, account, device, online-safety, photography, record-keeping and incident procedures. World Word Search does not verify an adult's role.
Do not enter a child's full name, date of birth, address, medical details, pastoral notes, passwords or other sensitive information. Use an approved nickname and a non-identifying avatar. Do not publish join codes on open websites or social media.

If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. Concerns about a child should also be reported through the school or church safeguarding lead and, where appropriate, the official UK guidance at gov.uk/report-child-abuse. Do not wait for a website-support response in an emergency.
A school or church should review this page, the Privacy notice, Child privacy guide, Terms and Data protection information before rollout and should give learners an age-appropriate explanation of the service. Schools in England must also follow the version of Keeping children safe in education that is in force on the date of use.
